The StingRays

Let's Rock!
The StingRays play the greatest music ever written and play it with the energy, passion and authenticity of the artists whose music they love. They've played their 50's, 60's, 70's Rock & Roll for dancing crowds at festivals, concert series, clubs, corporate events and parties throughout the Midwest, playing with and opening for 50's & 60's greats like Danny & the Juniors, the Ides of March, the Grass Roots, Joey Dee and the Starliters and Dion. Top rate musicians, the StingRays love interacting with audiences through trivia, dance contests, joining the audience, and zany moves. They always get the crowd dancing and singing. With the success of their two CDs, Electric Sea and Walk The Plank, people from Hawaii to New York are listening to the band's authentic, yet definitely StingRays sound.

StingRays Cultural Exchange - 5/14/08
New Club - Breaktime Family Billiards
NAPERVILLE, IL - The StingRays will be in new waters at Breaktime Family Billiards in Naperville this Saturday. "It's seems strange but we've never had a public show in Naperville before," said StingRay geographer and bassist Frank R. "The Naperville Libraries are ranked #1 in the country so we know the natives read a lot, now it's time to teach them to dance," continued the culturally conscious crooner.

The Odyssey Continues - 5/7/08
What A Long Strange Trip
LOMBARD, IL - The adventures of the StingRays continue this Friday with their first journey through what was previously thought of as the unnavigable waters of the Odyssey Restaurant in Lombard. The celebration will be of epic proportions with dancing, singing, eating and drinking on a colossal scale. Jump in your wooden horse and sail straight towards the sweet sounds of Rock and Roll.

Magical History Tour - 4/23/08
The StingRays' Quest Continues
NILES, IL - The StingRays' quest to entertain with music and enlighten through trivia continues this Friday with a must see show at Chambers in Niles. The entertainment will begin around 9pm and the mind expanding trivia will center around this weeks birthday boy, Jerry Leiber (of Leiber & Stoller fame). "There's so much to know about Rock & Roll and so many songs to dance to that these guys could keep this tour going for a lifetime", opined Zane Kesey, of the Merry Pranksters. "That's the idea", answered StingRays' Drummer Ron.

The Turtle and the StingRay - 4/17/08
Recently Discovered Ancient writing
CAROL STREAM, IL - An international team of archaeologists have announced the discovery of a new fable by Aesop. Translators are still hard at work on the ancient Greek text at press time but preliminary reports are that the story involves a StingRay that celebrates a Turtle's birthday this Saturday at a club named Manhattan's with music and special Turtle's trivia. The last line of the story, most likely the moral of the tale is, "you don't want to miss this show".

Rock Around the Clock - 4/10/08
It takes a licking but keeps on ticking
DOWNERS GROVE, IL - This Saturday is the Fifty-fourth anniversary of the recording of Bill Haley & His Comets, "Rock Around the Clock". Saturday night the StingRays will be doing just that at Finley's Grill Room with a tribute to the song that started it all.

Stop the Winter Rally - 3/28/08
StingRays Play for Spring
CAROL STREAM, IL - The StingRays have had enough of winter and aren't going to take it anymore. "It's been Spring for a week. How many more bags of salt do I have to buy? How many more times do I have to shovel my driveway?" asks Danny W., StingRay guitarist and Anti-Winter Rally organizer. Join the StingRays tonight (Friday, 3/28) at Manhattan's in Carol Stream and use the power of rock & roll to coax the seasons-that-be to work for Spring. I'm thinking a good, rousing 'Heck no, No more snow,' at 9:30pm will do it," adds meteorology activist and StingRay cloud drummer Ron T.

Virtual StingRays - 3/13/08
Catch them in Cyberspace this weekend
ANYTOWN, USA - "I just love this new-fangled world wide web. We're off this weekend and can still play for people," says StingRays Cymbalist and Silicone Valley ambassador Ron. In between St. Patrick's Day celebrations, take time to 'tune' your computer to the StingRays on the radio. You can catch two movie reviews about flixs featuring the music the StingRays love, both by Film Fan Frank R., on PalCinema and an interview with the whole band by Mike Kara from his radio show Eye on The Community. "The other nice thing about the world wide web is that you can attend the show anytime you want, even in your pajamas," adds Technophile Guitarist Dan.

StingRays Sell Great Experiences - 3/8/08
New Email ad creates controversy
COUNTRYSIDE, IL - A stark new ad portrays the StingRays as the group dancers want on the stage when they are looking for a great time in the middle of the night, "It's 9:30pm and your children have been out of the house for years. But there's an email in your inbox and it's got all the information about a good time at Rolling Lanes this Saturday. You've got to decide whether a band that knows your favorite songs, plays their hearts out and turns every night into a party will be more fun to see than a re-run of Saturday Night Live. It's 9:30pm and your children have been out of the house for years, do you want to have fun?"

Turnabout's Fair Play - 2/13/08
In other words, ladies turn to pay
MORTON GROVE, IL - Never ones to let an important holiday pass without notice, the StingRays are celebrating leap year by playing a Sadie Hawkins Turnabout Dance this Saturday. "I've waited four years for it to be the girls' turn to ask me out," said hopeful but hapless StingRays Bassist Frank R. "On top of that, this holiday is also called T.W.I.R.P. Day which stands for "The Woman Is Responsible To Pay," added the mushy but money conscious musician.

Two Valentine Shows - 2/6/08
StingRays going all out for love - almost
DOWNERS GROVE/CAROL STREAM, IL - On the last weekend before Valentine's Day the StingRays are doing their part to help the romantically inclined. "We've picked two great restaurants, Finley's on Friday and Manhattan's on Saturday and we're playing some of the best music ever written", said guitarist and hopeless romantic StingRay Danny. "We're really doing everything we can except kissing your date for you, and this year I'm drawing the line at that", continued the puckered out guitar picker.

StingRays First On Groundhog Day - 2/1/08
Rolling Lanes to host Prediction Event
COUNTRYSIDE, IL – Inspired by the early primaries this year the StingRays will announce their annual winter weather prediction at one minute after midnight on Groundhog day. The event starts Friday February 1, 2008 at 9:30pm and will be held at Rolling Lanes in Countryside. "Punxsutawney Phil has to wait until the sun comes up to make his prediction", explained Frank Dobs, keyboardist for the prognosticating foursome. "We use the crowds reaction to the song we play near midnight, lots of dancing signals six more weeks of winter, few dancers will mean an early Spring". Judging from the StingRays past few shows, we maybe in for some pretty cold weather.
